                                                   Introduction

For all those who live under sun over centuries among the various wealth bestowed by nature physical and mental health stands on top of the list. We follow various branches of medical therapy namely Siddha, Ayurvedha, Homeopathy, Unani, Allopathy in order to get relief from all the ailments we suffer. All these methods of treatment cure the disease by using naturally and artificially prepared medicines.

But without consuming any sort of these preparations, there are proven other methods such as Acupuncture, Acupressure, Acutouch, Yoga therapy, Reiki, and Pranic Healing. Acutouch Therapy takes top position among all these above said methods. We can call it a miraculous curing without medicine. In fact Acupuncture method took birth in China and epics of China propagate positive results of these treatments. The total population of China has been practicing these
methods for decades and centuries from the time immemorial. This is evident in the lifestyle and total health of Chinese people.

                                         History of Acupuncture

In the ancient Taoism-Acupuncture method is explained in detail 8000 years ago. By an intuitive knowledge the saint name Fku-Hsi who lived on the shores of yellow river 8000 years ago had realized the strong relationship and integrity between nature and human beings and has depicted them through symbols and communicated with fellow citizen. Even though we believe that Acupuncture method was in force in China 5000 years ago we got some evidences as samples which were used for these treatments only very recently B.C.1000. They were some sharp stones, bones of some animals and birds and some sharp twigs. So the inference is that in ancient period of 5000 years ago Acupuncture treatment did not use any sharp material of any kind.

According to China History the era in which metal was utilized in B.C.400. In China metallic material such as needles came in usage only from B.C 421 – 221. it is during B.C 113 even golden needles and silver needles came in use.
From the above said two historical evidences it is very clear that no material such as needles or any pointed instrument were used in Acupuncture treatment during the beginning stages.

Chinese called these symbols by the name yin – yang. In his reputed book I-Ching Fku-Hsi; the first in the world to write in this theory – has described in the philosophy of Acupuncture very clearly and in detailed way. This book is considered as the foundation of Acupuncture philosophy and therapeutic methods even now.

                                        Meaning of Acupuncture

It is said that the Acupuncture is originated from Latin. But these words became popular in world from the Chinese language. Many books interpreted the word Acupuncture by dividing it as follows.

ACCUS + PUNCTURA = ACCUPUNCTURE.

In Latin “ACCUS” means needle or pointed, “PUNCTURA” means penetrating or piercing. So the single word Acupuncture means piercing with needle or the same with a pointed material. Is this above said explanations clear to a satisfactory extent? We shall prove it by some historical evidences. We can understand the real and complete meaning the word Acupuncture as combination of two words in Latin as shown below. ACUITUS + PUNCTURA. The world “ACCUTUS” in Latin becomes “ACUITY” in English language. Acuity means shrewd thought or the right thought. Then “PUNCTURA” means “poking” and “touching”.

“Acuitus + Punctura” give the complete meaning that touching and poking with sharp and curative feelings and gives the accurate meaning “touching”. Other than mere punching or penetrating at point with needles Acupuncture treatment is helping the patient to cure the disease with the whole intention to cure the disease. If we go to say once step further “Acutouch” is rather accurate than the word Acupuncture. On the skin of our body there are energy points all over. The treatment Acutouch is finding and selecting a particular energy point and touching those points with the tip of our finger to eradicate the disease.
We should realize the fact that the treatment Acutouch is such great philosophy. The universe with innumerable numbers of Cluster of Galaxies, stars and planets is moving from time immemorial. The whole of these is formed by “Puncha-Boothas” or Five Physical Elements namely akash or ether, air, fire, water and earth. We can understand the physical transformation from each physical element as pressure, sound, light, taste and smell respectively.

                                         Introduction to Vethathirium

Philosophy of Vethathiriam very clearly describes the collective and total effect of physical transformation of above said as “Universal Magnetism” or “Unified Force”. Like this physical body of all the organisms including human beings is the compound of five physical elements. Vethathiriam explains the physical transformation of five elements in human being as “Bio Magnetism”. In human body there are two “vital organs” for each five elements we can understand from Table given below.

S. No.                        Five Elements       Vital Organs in human body

1.                                   Akash or
Ether or  wood              Liver and Gall Bladder

2.                                    Air or                         Lungs and Large
                                        metal                               Intestine

3.                                     Fire                          Heart, Small Intestine,
                                                                        Pericardium and Triple
                                                                              Warmer

4.                                    Water                        Kidney and Urinary
                                                                               Bladder

5                                     Earth                         Spleen and Stomach

All the five elements and universal magnetism in the  universe and puncha boothas and bio magnetism in human being are functioning controlled by each other interdependently. We call it law of nature or law of universe. When change occurs in the functioning of nature it influence the human body and create illness or ailments. In the present time the lifestyle of human being is against the nature. For example eating when not having appetite and not eating when hungry due to these types of lifestyle changes, toxin accumulates in the vital organs of human being. Because of this relation between the universal magnetism and bio magnetism do not work harmoniously. As a consequence over period of time toxin gets collected subjected to diseases.
                                             Conclusion

So the philosophy of Vethathiriam says we should increase the bio magnetism and keep the harmonious link with universal magnetism which can be achieved by the Acutouch healing process which keeps human being to live healthy throughout the life.
